Recent research validates the value of study away and the importance of faculty involvement in the student experience. Studying away is a rigorous endeavor, and faculty can inspire students to develop intercultural awareness, acquire a foreign language, sharpen intellectual curiosity, and make academic progress off campus. 教师 have the unique opportunity to encourage students to maximize their time away, advising them on how a semester or year away might complement their academic goals in 哈特福德.

The Office of 研究了 values faculty involvement and encourages professors from all disciplines to get become a study away ally.

国外任教

Trinity College faculty can teach abroad as a visiting faculty member at Trinity’s Rome campus.  研究了 teaching appointments are awarded on a competitive basis to eligible faculty. Those eligible include all active full-time, tenured, and tenure-track faculty. Retired and visiting faculty who are currently on a contract of less than three years are not eligible. Eligible faculty members interested in teaching for a semester at Trinity’s signature program in Rome should contact Rebecca Hovey, Interim Director of the Office of 研究了.

Lead an Intersession Program: Summer or January Term

As a complement to the established study away programs that are offered each semester, Trinity faculty from all disciplines are strongly encouraged to propose short-term study away programs for the summer or January term.  The Office of 研究了 works closely with faculty to provide information and support in the development of programs.

Interested faculty should schedule a meeting with Rebecca Hovey, Interim Director of the Office of 研究了 to discuss details and timelines.

The Office of 研究了 values the academic leadership of committed faculty, and recognizes their essential role in the past, present and future growth of Trinity’s study away programs.  Study Away 教师 顾问 (SAFAs) provide input and guidance to the Office of 研究了 and its program on-site directors in three main areas:  Curriculum, 建议, and Recruitment.

The Office of 研究了 works with faculty and the Deans Office to develop new international faculty exchange opportunities. Trinity has a growing portfolio of faculty exchanges open to  professors in a variety of disciplines. The faculty exchanges include:

• Pompeu FabraUniversity, Barcelona SPAIN (anticipated November 2020)
• Paris IV, Sorbonne, Paris FRANCE (anticipated November 2020)

阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停综合症的员工 – Each OSA study away adviser specializes in a geographic region.  If you have any questions about the programs, reach out to the respective OSA adviser.

研究了 Process and Deadlines – Students may have questions for you about the study away process and deadlines.

Approved External 项目 – In addition to Trinity’s 5 signature programs, the college approves over 70 other programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of its students.  All AEPs are carefully vetted and approved by Trinity’s Curriculum Committee on an annual basis, so if you have questions about any current programs or suggestions for programs that would benefit Trinity students, the OSA would love to hear from you!

健康 & 安全 – The college partners with an established international security firm to develop an international travel approval process.  This helps ensure the safety of all members of the Trinity community.  Please refer to the 健康 and 安全 pages of our website and contact Rebecca Hovey with any questions.

Professional Affiliations – The OSA has membership with several international education organizations such as NAFSA, Diversity Abroad, and Forum on Education Abroad.
